The Perfect 7-Day Phuket Itinerary

A week in Phuket — beaches, day trips, local culture, and the best food the island has to offer.

Day 1 — Arrive & Explore Patong

Check into your hotel and head straight to Patong Beach for sunset. Grab a table at one of the beachfront restaurants for your first Thai meal — tom yum soup and pad thai are mandatory. Stroll down Bangla Road in the evening to feel the energy of Phuket's most famous strip.

Day 2 — Phi Phi Islands Day Trip

An early start for the Phi Phi Islands speedboat tour. Maya Bay, snorkeling, monkey beach, and a long lunch on Phi Phi Don. You'll be back by early evening — rest up and explore Jungceylon mall or grab street food at the night market.

Day 3 — Kata & Karon Beaches

Rent a scooter and head south. Spend the morning at Kata Beach, then lunch in the village. Afternoon at Karon Beach which is quieter and wider. End the day at Karon Viewpoint overlooking three bays — one of the best sunset spots on the island.

Day 4 — Phuket Old Town

Take a day away from the beach. Phuket Old Town is full of Sino-Portuguese shophouse architecture, excellent coffee shops, and some of the best local food on the island. Don't miss Dibuk Road, Thalang Road, and the Sunday Walking Street market.

Day 5 — Similan Islands or Phang Nga Bay

If visibility is good, the Similan Islands are world-class for diving and snorkeling — book a full-day speedboat tour from Patong pier. Alternatively, the James Bond Island tour through Phang Nga Bay is spectacular and more sheltered, great for families.

Day 6 — North Phuket: Bang Tao & Nai Thon

The north of the island is quieter and less developed. Bang Tao Beach is long, uncrowded, and backed by luxury resorts and lagoons. Nai Thon Beach further north is often almost empty — bring a book and a picnic.

Day 7 — Rawai & Nai Harn

The south of Phuket has a different character — more local, less touristy. Rawai is a fishing village with the best seafood restaurants on the island. Nai Harn Beach is beautiful and rarely crowded. End your trip with sunset at Phromthep Cape.
