Overview

Nai Yang is a quiet, sheltered bay inside the Sirinath National Park, 5km south of Phuket Airport. Its headlands protect it from swell, creating some of the calmest and most swimmable water on Phuket’s west coast. Unlike most Phuket beaches, Nai Yang has a row of casuarina (pine) trees along the shore that provide natural shade — a genuine rarity.

The beach has a local, unhurried feel. A handful of affordable restaurants along the beachfront road serve fresh seafood and Thai food, and the absence of beach vendors and jet skis makes it one of the most peaceful spots on the island.

Swimming & Snorkeling

The calm, clear water is safe for swimming year-round (with usual caution in monsoon season). At low tide, a small coral reef at the northern end of the bay is accessible by wading and offers decent snorkeling with colourful fish.

Getting There

Nai Yang is about 5 minutes south of Phuket Airport and easily accessible by taxi, Grab, or rental scooter. From Phuket Town, head north on Route 402 — about 35 minutes.

Best Time to Visit

Nai Yang’s protected bay means it’s swimmable for most of the year. High season (November–April) is best for clear water. Even during the green season, the bay stays calmer than exposed west-coast beaches.
