Overview
Karon Noi (also called Relax Bay) is a small, sheltered bay between Karon and Kata beaches. The beach is dominated by the Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort, which occupies the hillside above, but the beach itself is public. Because of its small size and limited public access road, it’s much quieter than its neighbours.
The water is typically very calm — the protected bay and rocky headlands create near-lagoon conditions on most days. It’s one of the safest swimming spots on the west coast.
Getting There
Karon Noi is accessed via a small road off the Karon–Kata road. Non-resort guests can park and walk to the beach, or arrive by long-tail boat from Karon or Kata beach.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Karon Noi Beach public?
Yes — despite the Le Méridien resort presence, the beach is public. Resort sun loungers are reserved for guests but you can set up anywhere on the sand.
Is Karon Noi Beach safe for swimming?
Yes — it’s one of the most protected bays on the west coast, with calm, clear water suitable for all abilities.
How do I get to Karon Noi if I’m not staying at Le Méridien?
There’s a small public access road and parking area. Alternatively, take a long-tail boat from Karon Beach (5 minutes).
