About Nai Harn
Nai Harn is Phuket’s best-kept residential secret — a quiet bay village at the island’s southern tip that has maintained its authentic character despite being surrounded by some of Phuket’s most beautiful scenery. It has a small but loyal long-stay community of expats, digital nomads, and Thais who value its combination of natural beauty and genuine local life.
The village has a handful of good restaurants, a local market, yoga studios, and the practical amenities needed for a comfortable longer stay — but none of the resort-town infrastructure of Patong or Kata. This is precisely its appeal.
The Bay & Lagoon
Nai Harn Bay is one of Phuket’s most beautiful — a crescent of white sand facing west, backed by a yacht-filled freshwater lagoon (actually brackish) surrounded by casuarina trees. Yachts from across Southeast Asia shelter here during season, and the sight of the boats at anchor with the headlands behind is one of Phuket’s most memorable views.
Phromthep Cape
10 minutes south of Nai Harn, Phromthep Cape is Phuket’s southernmost point and its most famous sunset viewpoint. The car park fills up 45 minutes before sunset — arriving early (or walking up from the beach road) is essential. The views of the Andaman islands to the south are spectacular in all directions.
Getting There
Nai Harn is 40 minutes from Patong and 35 minutes from Phuket Town by Grab. There is limited songthaew service from Phuket Town on some days but Grab is far more reliable.
