Phuket FantaSea Show
Phuket's spectacular cultural theme park — a Las Vegas-scale theatrical show combining Thai mythology, elephants, and pyrotechnics.
Phuket FantaSea is the island’s most ambitious entertainment attraction — a 60-acre cultural theme park in Kamala that runs every night except Tuesday. The centrepiece is a 3,000-seat theatre hosting Kingdom of the Wind, a 75-minute theatrical spectacle combining acrobatics, magic illusions, laser effects, pyrotechnics, and a cast of elephants, horses, and live performers telling the story of a Thai legend.
It’s unabashedly theatrical and lavish — exactly the kind of show that photographs badly and works brilliantly when you’re actually in the seat.
What’s Included
Phase 1: The Fantasy Village (6:00pm–8:00pm)
Before the show, the park opens its village — carnival games, shopping stalls, cultural exhibits, photo opportunities with elephants and traditional Thai costumes, and street food from dozens of vendors.
Buffet Dinner (6:30pm–8:30pm)
A large international buffet (included in some ticket packages) covering Thai dishes, seafood, Asian options, and desserts. Up to 700 dishes are available. The dinner hall itself seats over 4,000 people.
The Kingdom of the Wind Show (9:00pm)
The 75-minute theatrical performance is the main event:
- Full-scale stage sets representing ancient Thai kingdoms
- 30+ trained elephants in the production (one of the largest theatrical elephant casts in the world)
- Acrobats, traditional Thai classical dance, and stunt performers
- Laser, pyrotechnic, and 4D special effects
- English narration with the main story told through action and spectacle

Tips
- Buy tickets online in advance during high season — the show sells out, especially around Christmas and New Year.
- The show-only option is good value if you’d rather eat elsewhere before arriving.
- Seats in the centre-rear third of the theatre are best — you see the full stage, not at a steep upward angle.
- Photography and video recording are not permitted inside the theatre.
- The village opens at 6pm — arriving early means you can see everything without rushing.

FAQ
Is FantaSea suitable for young children? Yes — it’s one of the best family activities on the island. The pyrotechnics and scale can be overwhelming for under-3s, but the village games and elephant encounters are excellent for all ages.
Are the elephants treated well? FantaSea has been running since 1998 and employs over 30 elephants. Their welfare program has improved over the years, and the elephants are housed in a dedicated facility. If you have strong concerns about elephant performances, this is a consideration; for most visitors, the production context is different from trekking or shows.
Is it worth the price? If theatrical spectacle and scale are your thing, yes — this is a world-class production at a fraction of what a comparable show costs in Las Vegas or Dubai. If you prefer smaller, more cultural experiences, the other evening options (Muay Thai, Simon Cabaret, Old Town restaurants) might suit you better.
